The Norwegian Forestry Society

The Norwegian Forestry Society is an NGO with approximately 11000 members all over Norway. We want every human to experience the forest as a source of life quality. The aim of the organisation is to enhance the understanding of the many faceted importance of the forest: As a creator of values, as an important mean to fight climate-change and as a bearer of traditions.
The Forestry Society’s “family” consists of 19 county forestry societies and the central organisation in Oslo. In addition to dispersion of information and education on forestry matters, the Society has initiated the establishment of forest nurseries, The Norwegian Forest Seed Centre and The Forestry Extension Institute.
The Norwegian Forestry Society is publishing the only Norwegian independent forestry magazine “Norsk Skogbruk” (Norwegian Forestry). The magazine covers trade policies, research, biology, economy and wildlife related to forestry, as well as forestry equipment and technical issues.
